About Barry Sharf:
Barry Sharf assumed the position of Co-President of Emerchant Advance-Discount Merchant Funding as part of a recapitalization and expansion of the operation in November 2016. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Barry M. Sharf had a successful career in the merchant cash advance industry. In 2008 he founded Bankcard Funding, which was sold as a industry leader SFS in August 2008. Mr. Sharf remained on as President of the division.
Before his career in the merchant cash advance space, Mr. Barry Sharf was an entrepreneur in the home medical equipment industry, growing a start-up venture, A & J Care, growing it to become the largest company of its kind in the NY Metro area. He sold this company to Kohlberg & Co. in 1999. Mr. Sharf has always been an active investor and operator in many different businesses and real estate ventures.
Mr. Barry Sharf specializes in formulating dynamic financial packages, often utilizing skills learned while earning both his bachelors and MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. As part of his training, Mr. Barry Sharf completed a formal Credit/Lending Training Program at Republic National Bank (now part of HSBC).
What separates Mr. Barry Sharf from others, is his personable nature and his ability to relate to his merchants. Mr. Barry Sharf prides himself on constantly interacting with merchants, working with them to determine the best financing options for them. It is his goal to help his merchants’ businesses to the fullest of his ability.
Mr. Barry Sharf is the proud father of a son who is a junior at the University of Michigan, a daughter who graduated with honour from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently a reporter/writer at Forbes and is married to Karen Sharf, a manager of the prestigious Real Estate firm Daniel Gale Sotheby’s.
Ultimately, as a result of both his failures and successes as a business owner, Mr. Barry Sharf empathizes with merchants, truly caring about helping grow their company.
